This work from the series “Shore Dreams – Trees by the Sea” reduces the coastal landscape to a finely balanced interplay of form, color, and space. In a serene, almost dematerialized scene, individual trees appear along a shallow shore – each with its own distinct character and presence.
The composition is structured by a few precisely placed elements: a leafless tree, vibrant red crowns, a white sphere as a self-contained counterpoint, and vertical lines that act like abstract markers in space. These elements do not stand alone but enter into a silent dialogue with each other.
Reflections in the water create a second level of reality, where forms dissolve and reorder themselves. This creates a field of tension between clarity and dissolution, nature and abstraction, the visible and the imagined. As in the entire series, the landscape here is not understood as a given reality but as an inner space of experience.
The reduced aesthetics and deliberate color dramaturgy – especially the intense red – draw attention to perception, memory, and emotional resonance.
