About me

I am Manfred Rautenberg, born in 1947 on the German North Sea coast. I create my maritime works from a deep connection to the coastal landscape and my own memories. Through my works, I try to convey contemplative tranquility. Coastal forms appear in them as poetic interstitial spaces, characterized by reduction, vastness, and meditative stillness.
Trained as a certified engineer in the 1970s, my artistic career is rooted in the precision of technical disciplines. For me, the transition from classical engineering to technology-driven visual design with generative AI is not a break, but a natural evolution. The combination of artistic vision and technological openness gives my work a unique character.
I use Artificial Intelligence as a highly developed design tool – similar to complex technical systems. Each work emerges from a stringent conceptual framework, which I fill with finely tuned design, curation, and post-processing steps.
And by the way: my art proves that innovation knows no age.
Education: Certified Engineer, Technical University of Braunschweig, 1974.
