A solitary human figure moves along a barely visible boundary between water and land. The heavily reduced scenery becomes a symbol for transition, inner search, and the openness of what is to come.
This work belongs to the series "Lines of Silence," a series of monochrome, minimally condensed landscapes. The starting point is the flowing forms of the Wadden Sea: tidal creeks, sandbanks, waterways, and individual maritime markers. In their artistic reduction, however, they increasingly detach from a specific location and become images of expanse, orientation, and inner movement.
Curved lines lead through open spaces, disappear at the horizon, or meet isolated human traces. Boats, poles, and figures appear as silent reference points in a landscape between water and land, proximity and distance, departure and contemplation. The works are conceived as a coherent sequence of images. Individually, they maintain their calm presence; in diptychs or triptychs, their lines and forms enter into a visual dialogue with each other.
Concept and artistic design are my own. The visualization was done using generative AI as an integral part of my creative process.
